Our Story
Veterinary Purchasing (VP) was founded in 1972, by a group of Ontario veterinarians seeking a better way to procure veterinary supplies. Recognizing the inefficiencies of dealing with multiple orders from different vendors, they envisioned a business model that could secure fair pricing, streamline billing, and ensure prompt delivery of veterinary products.
Starting with a 6,000-square-foot warehouse in St. Marys, Ontario, VP has grown into Canada's largest veterinary owned distribution center, now spanning over 172,000 square feet. Thanks to our industry-leading inventory logistics, consistent pricing structure and exceptional customer service, our unique shareholder-owned model serves over 2,200 loyal member practices today.
Created by veterinarians to serve veterinary practices, our founders vision continues to guide VP's Board of Directors and our Leadership and Management Teams today. Our goal in everything we do is to help our members run their businesses profitability and efficiently.
